
Rabbi Mendy Cohen is the Director and spiritual leader of the Chabad Jewish Center of Southern Utah.
Raised in Montreal, Canada, Rabbi Mendy is known for his outgoing personality and dynamic approach to Jewish outreach. During his yeshiva years, he was actively involved in outreach programs and worked closely with Jewish youth. He also spent Friday afternoons visiting Jewish shopkeepers, sharing an inspiring Jewish thought, offering them the opportunity to put on tefillin, and light Shabbat candles.
Rabbi Mendy studied at the Rabbinical College of America, where he received his rabbinic ordination from the Chief Rabbi of Israel. As his studies progressed, so did his commitment to enriching Jewish life and helping others connect more deeply with their heritage.
Over the years, Rabbi Mendy has traveled throughout the United States and around the world, participating in a wide range of Jewish outreach initiatives and community programs. His work has included organizing Jewish day camps, coordinating Chabad programs, working with Jewish youth, and visiting individuals in need of friendship, encouragement, and support.
With a deep passion for teaching, inspiring others, and helping those around him, Rabbi Mendy has dedicated his life to Jewish outreach and making the world a better place. He is proud to call St. George and Southern Utah his permanent home, where he is committed to building a warm, vibrant, and welcoming Jewish community for residents and visitors alike.
