Hebrew Education for At Risk Teens

Project H.E.A.R.T. is dedicated to the outreach to young people in at risk from a variety of problems in today's society. We reach out every year and throughout the entire year to hundreds of teen boys and girls in Residential Treatment Centers throughout Utah that suffer from a variety of conditions like ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder), ADD, ADHD, PTSD, Anorexia, Bulimia etc.

Rabbi Mendy Cohen and his wife, Chaya, serve as the directors of the Chabad Jewish Center and oversee the Project Heart program. Since 2018, they have diligently worked to provide comprehensive support for our valued clients, addressing their emotional and spiritual needs with utmost professionalism. Through regular weekly visits, personalized one on one sessions, thoughtfully designed holiday programs, engaging interactive activities, support with kosher needs, and a warm and welcoming environment, they have fostered a sense of home away from home for our clients.

We offer unconditional love to these precious souls, through weekly enrichment visitations, holiday awareness activities (Menorah lighting ceremonies in RTC), weekly discussions with the Rabbi on Torah Portion, the Jewish Mystical perspective on current events, anger management sessions based on Torah Judaism, attempts to reconcile strained relationships with parents and/or family members all with a non-judgmental all-accepting approach.
